With over thirty-five years of experience as a Church Music Director, Al Palmisano has dedicated his career to enriching the musical lives of his community. For the past twenty-five years, he has been the Music Director at BUMC, where his passion for music and worship continues to flourish.

Beyond his role at BUMC, Al is a versatile musician with a wide range of endeavors. He enjoys traveling with his wife, Laurie, and their dog, Matilda, often exploring new shows and musical experiences together. His commitment to fostering musical talent extends to instructing piano enthusiasts of all ages, sharing his knowledge and love for music through private lessons and at a music store for fifteen years.

Al's musical journey includes playing in a swing dance band for five years and managing a restaurant band for three years. He also works with OCPS schools, where he teaches middle and high school band and orchestra students how to perform with an accompanist. He accompanies students during adjudicated recitals and assists with concerts throughout the school year.

Additionally, Al has lent his talents as a rehearsal pianist, Music Director, and performer in various local theaters in Florida and Pennsylvania, supporting graduate and undergraduate musicians during their recitals. Recently, he has taken on the challenge of learning to tune and repair pianos, apprenticing with a local professional whenever possible.

Al has an unwavering passion for music, teaching, and community engagement, making him a cherished figure in the local arts scene.
